ILLUMINATE - Light Kit for Cinema 4D

Have you had those moments where you have your camera set and you're ready to light, but you have to leave your preferred camera angle just to reposition a light?
i2c Illuminate is a pair of lighting kits built to make lighting your subjects more intuitive and a lot easier!

The pack consists of:
  • i2c_Quick3Lights - 3-point lighting rig. Control position and properties of all three lights in a single interface including some advanced features.
  • i2c_RingSpotLights - A set of spot lights set in a ring arrangement.

The two rigs are set-up to be fast and easy to use. They do not replace standard lighting, but they make it a hell of a lot easier.

Control the properties of the three lights, "KEY", "FILL" and "BACK", from a single Attributes panel. Color, shape, brightness, size. All in one place.

Make the lights stick to the camera, so you can go round your subject and have consistent lighting throughout! The BACK light is always a BACK light (always behind the subject relative to the camera).

Features

  • Utilize Standard Cinema4D Lights. Faster render times and compatible with GI.
  • Control everything from 1 UI for fast, easy setups. Light positions, height, color, shape, brightness and more.
  • Dig into each individual light's properties to fine tune settings like Lens effects, Noise and more. Expand the light-kit in the Object Manager to get into the advanced settings for each light.

  • [RingSpotLights] Tweak the radius the ring of lights sit at.
  • [Quick3Lights] Change the shape of lights from 2D shapes such as disks and rectangles to 3D shapes such as cubes.
  • [Quick3Lights] Set X and Z positions visually and Y height with interactive slider.
  • [Quick3Lights] Make the lights fixed in space, or make them follow the camera for consistent lighting.
  • [Quick3Lights] Pre-made presets "WARM" and "COOL" for different lighting situations

Quick 3 Lights with WARM preset & GI @ Diffuse Depth 1

Quick3Lights with COLD preset & GI @ Diffuse Depth 1

With "Follow Camera" on, Q3L will move the lights when you move the camera to keep things consistent!
Show in reflections and change the shape of the lights for some looks.

FAQ

So, what's the difference between i2c Illuminate and all the other countless light kits out there?
Illuminate was built from necessity for real projects. It's not meant to make your lights look fancy in render, it doesn't add visible objects and materials to bulk up your project file, it's just lights! Focus more on light placement and getting good results fast!

I don't like a certain default / I would like to add a feature
The two kits work with User Data and Xpresso. Feel free to tweak or change values to your liking.
You can also tweet me (link at the top of the sidebar) and I'll look into integrating your changes in the next release.
This kit is free, and if you make any changes to the kit, you should also give it out for free and allow people to modify it. Share alike! It's only fair.

IT TAKES TOO LONG TO RENDER!!
The kit may be set with Area Shadows enabled, which tend to take a little longer to render. Switch to "Shadow Maps". If it's STILL slow, set the light type to Omni. (If it's STILL slow, let me know).
